Marina Atahlian is pianist, musicologist, music educator, Orff clinician and conductor of Children’s Percussion Orchestras. She is Certified Piano and Theory Teacher from The Royal Conservatory (RCM), for elementary, intermediate and advanced levels. She is a recording artist, her piano CD Albums, SERENITY, REFLEXION and HEALING are immense success, greatly appreciated by the public and intended for meditation, relaxation and well- being. She is the author of the books: The Armenian Folk Songs and Picture Scales. Marina performs at concerts and recitals and her videos on YouTube inspire students and musicians. She presents ORFF workshops for music teachers and educators.
Atahlian is member of Ontario Registered Music Teachers' Association (ORMTA), ORFF Canada (COC) and Ontario College of Teachers (OCT). She holds a Masters in Musicology, Masters in Piano performance, Bachelor of Music, and Baccalaureate in Education (Bed) from the University of Ottawa, Canada. She studied Orff pedagogy, Music and Movement in Education and Therapy in Germany.
Marina has a large and exciting experience in teaching piano, Orff, theory, history, harmony, music and movement over 30 years. At Dynamic Music Studio, she offers academic structured RCM Curriculum Learning and targets successful RCM exams and competitions. Her students succeed at RCM exams with high marks and honours and win prizes and scholarships at festivals and competitions. Atahlian combines the best traditional and modern teaching pedagogy and offers an innovative approach in teaching music and making lessons exciting and enjoyable by using the latest learning technology, online resources and Apps. Marina taught at several conservatories, universities and private and public schools. She has a large repertoire as a conductor of children’s percussion orchestras and directed several musical productions.
