Young Artist Tour
Every other year, the Ontario Registered Music Teachers' Association is pleased to present a province-wide concert tour featuring a talented, rising star! This gifted student is awarded this career-building opportunity by winning the ORMTA Provincial Young Artist Competition earlier that same year.
The Ontario Registered Music Teachers' Association gratefully acknowledges CFMTA sponsorship of Young Artist Tours that take place on even-numbered years.
Branches are encouraged to host a concert on the 2026-2027 Young Artist Tour. Please submit an application to do so by September 30th, 2026.

Congratulations to Daniel Thiessen, winner of the 2026 Young Artist Competition
Daniel Thiessen is eleven years old and began studying piano at the age of five. Over the past four years he has earned multiple top placements at the Kiwanis Music Festival in London, Ontario, Canada. In 2025, he was awarded first place in both the OMFA Provincial Music Festival and the ORMTA Provincial Competition for piano solo. He has performed at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto in the 2022 Celebration of Excellence in recognition of achieving the highest RCM exam score in Canada that year. He has also performed at the 2024 and 2025 Stars of the Festival showcases in London. A student of St. Mary’s Choir and Orchestra School in London, Daniel also plays cello in the school’s orchestra program.
