Abigail Sanchez Rojas holds a Bachelor in Piano Performance from the National Autonomous University of Mexico and a Master in Music in Piano Performance from the University of Ottawa where she studied with Leopoldo Erice and Andrew Tunis. During her studies she was awarded the Mitchell Sharp Commemorative Bursary (2018) and the Barbara Newbegin Award in Music (2018- 2019) from the Canadian Federation of University Women.
Abigail works in Ottawa as a collaborative pianist for the Senior Choir of Emmanuel United Church and as a piano teacher at her home studio in Sandy Hill. Abigail is a certified Suzuki Piano Teacher and is member and clinician of the Suzuki Piano Association of Ottawa / Gatineau. She believes in sharing the passion for music to students of all ages and musical backgrounds and teaches with energy and kindness. As a performer, Abigail enjoys collaborating with instrumentalists and singers as well as performing solo repertoire.
Besides music, Abigail holds a Bachelor degree in Visual Arts and enjoys painting in her free time.
