Alicia Mighty

Alicia began her musical training at the New Conservatory of Music (NCM). There, she discovered her love for performance, accompanying and composition. By the age of 12, she accompanied many music students on the piano at the annual NCM Festival, and she won numerous performance and composition awards. Later, she adjudicated piano students at this festival. Alicia has taught many piano and theory students since 2002. Many of her students participate in various local festivals and receive prizes. Her students have also received 1st Class Honours in their piano and theory examinations taken at the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM). She merges performance and composition in music lessons to instill organic music creativity. Alicia received her ARCT Diploma in Piano Performance and her Advanced Specialist Certificate in Piano Pedagogy from the Royal Conservatory of Music. She also received a BMusEd, a BEd and a MA (MusEd) at the University of Toronto. Alicia is a licensed teacher under the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT). She teaches vocal and instrumental students at a secondary school in the Peel District School Board (where she is also the Concert and Jazz Band director). She enjoys attending numerous workshops and symposiums provided by universities and music institutions. Her notable favourites include those provided by the Royal Conservatory of Music and the Ontario Band of Association.
