Provincial Competitions 2007

Mississauga July 21, 2007

Young Artist:
1st place: Eric Tan (GTA Zone) received the Yamaha Canada Award
2nd place: Andrew Wong (Southern Zone) received the ORMTA Provincial Council
Members’ Alumni Award and ORMTA Scholarship

Provincial Instrumental:
1st place: Wei Sim (Ottawa Region Zone) received the Hugheen Ferguson Award
2nd place: Dennis Wong (Southern Zone) received the Long & McQuade Award

Provincial Vocal:
1st place: David Diston (Southern Zone) received the Court Stone Memorial Fund Award
2nd place: Joanna Murray (North Central Zone) received the Music for Young Children Award

The Esther Su Memorial Award for most promising student went to Young Artist competitors Eric Tan (GTA Zone) and Maggie Ho (Eastern Zone).

CFMTA Competition 2005

We congratulate last year's winner of the Young Artist Competition, Robert Biswas, student of Prof. Greg Butler of the Windsor-Essex County Branch of the ORMTA, who claimed a share of first place at this year's CFMTA piano competition in Calgary.
