Requirements to become an ORMTA Member:

A degree or diploma equivalent to that of the Associate or
Licentiate Diplomas issued by any recognized University or School
of Music.

The written Teacher's examination
in the subject area of instruction OR Equivalent pedagogical
training .

Proof of teaching experience satisfactory to the Board of
Examiners.

of ORMTA have the right to be designated RMT (Registered Music
Teachers) by Parliamentary Act 1946 (Chapter 131). This designation
is tranferable anywhere in Canada.
